Sunday School Re-Opening Procedures:
Children’s Sunday will safely reopen using the following action plan and must be utilized to keep our church members and children safe during the pandemic:
Classroom Cleaning
Teachers are required to disinfect the surfaces of the classroom before students enter the classroom. When students leave from Sunday school, teachers are required to disinfect all surfaces of the classroom and ensure their door is closed and the door knob on both sides are disinfected. Each classroom will be disinfected and deep cleaned by our cleaning staff on a weekly basis.
Learning Supplies
Sunday school students must not share their arts and craft supplies during Sunday school. Sunday school teachers will create separate bins of student supplies to use for each individual student. The supplies will remain in their storage areas when not in use and must not be touched or opened by another person. The supplies are not to be shared among students and should only be used by the student it is assigned to. If supplies do become contaminated, Sunday school teachers will need to disinfect those items immediately and ensure new supplies are provided for the student. Sunday school teachers are encouraged to use a minimum amount of arts and craft supplies.
Sign-in/Contact tracing/ Reporting
We will utilize a digital sign in system each week in a sign-up genius when students are in the building for Sunday school. Parents will sign their child in using their personal device before they drop off their child for Sunday school by accessing the link through an email or on the church website. Parents are required to take the survey for themselves and their child of any new symptoms and asked to not enter the building if there is a reported symptom. The list of students and teachers for each given week will be kept in the main office and digitally. It is encouraged for parents and teachers to notify the church if they have been exposed to Covid-19 or if they were potentially exposed but didn’t show signs or symptoms during that week or prior.
Classroom layout and Social Distancing
To safely ensure the students in the Sunday school classes maintain a safe distance, teachers will measure six feet diameter safety zones for each student. That student must stay in their area during the Sunday school class. Teachers can use floor spots, tape, hula hoops, and seating charts to allow for student movement from activities in the room. All teachers and students are required to wear a mask, even when maintaining a six-foot distance from others.
