Souper Bowl of Caring is transforming the Big Game into a nation-wide movement inspiring people to give locally and make a collective impact on hunger. Mobilizing grassroots resources including churches, schools, civic groups and caring individuals, the Souper Bowl of Caring movement has created over $160 million worth of support since its inception in 1190, that stays completely local.
We will be collecting cans/boxes of soup until Sunday, February 8th, the day of the Super Bowl. Look for the barrel in the narthex

LENTEN SHORT TERM STUDY
Why Did Jesus Have to Die?
by Rev. Dr. Adam Hamilton
Tuesdays, February 24 – March 31
9:45 – 10:55 a.m.
Despite the crucifixion’s central place in Christian faith, the New Testament offers few clear answers about how Jesus’ death saves, or why, exactly, he had to die. The New Testament writers use a host of metaphors—ransom, sacrifice, reconciliation, victory—but never explain exactly how it works or why it had to happen this way. What if that’s because we’ve been asking the wrong question? What if the cross isn’t a transaction to be explained, but a living Word from God meant to transform who we are and how we live?
If there is sufficient interest in having a study group in the evening, we will schedule one on Tuesday or Thursday evenings, beginning February 24/26. Please contact Carol Coney in the church office and indicate your interest in an evening group.
A $20.00 donation is requested to help defray the cost of the book. If you have any questions, please contact Pastor Mary Browne through the church office or e-mail – [email protected].
