Sunday School Classes
Children and Youth Sunday School
There are 3 ways you can help with the education of our future!
1. Social Hour Snacks - The children gather in the Goodley Helms Hall (at approx. 9:40 AM) before breaking up into their grade level classrooms for the rest of the hour. This gathering is something we started two years ago, and we want to continue with this format for the upcoming year. We begin each week with a kid friendly social hour. We are looking for people to help with set up and clean up of this informal snack. Oftentimes, the snacks and drinks (water & juice) are provided. We usually serve breakfast bars, pretzels, goldfish, etc. We use the dishes from the kitchen off the GHH and it really goes smoothly and fairly quickly. This could be set up before attending an Adult Sunday School class, and easily cleaned up in a few minutes after class.
2. Energetic Opening - Also during this gathering time, we kick off the Sunday School hour with an energetic, fun activity and/or song. There is usually a Bible verse provided and we use this time to have children of all ages join in learning a Bible verse or song. We are in need of volunteers to lead this 5–10-minute opening. If you have any activity or story you would like to share with the children and youth of our church, now is the chance! The children enjoy being together and getting to know each other during these times. The older ones can help the younger ones with an activity or help them with the words to a song, etc. We would love to involve more of our congregation in the education of our younger ones. This is a great opportunity to share a little of yourself with the future of our church. We will be putting together a schedule for gathering leaders, let us know how often we can count on you! To help with the opening please contact Mike or Megan Jones.
3. Two adults to teach a middle school class. The curriculum is provided and is easy to use. We also need second adults in two of our other classes. If you cannot help every Sunday, consider volunteering every other Sunday or once a month. Prayerfully consider helping, it's such a rewarding way to give of your time. A safe sanctuary background screening is required. For more information or to volunteer please contact Mike or Megan Jones.
